The final judging of the SCT Enterprise Award 2026 took place during the Defender Bramham International Horse Trials on 12 June. We were extremely privileged to have Lycetts to sponsor the Award and Lycetts Director Anna Goodley to carry out the final judging.

The finalists were Amelia McKenzie-Garbutt (Bridgefield Stables near Bradford) and  Eve Jessop (Moorhouse Equestrian Centre near Doncaster). They had both produced a Powerpoint portfolio followed by an interview showing the work they had done with their employer on the Business Plan over the last four months, and the contributions they had made to the business success.

Anna said:

‘Lycetts were delighted that Amelia won the Stubbing Court Training Enterprise Award. This award provides recognition to an apprentice for thinking commercially about the equine facility they are working for. Innovation and a forward thinking mentality, combined with resilience and dedication are all skills much needed in the equine world, and it is important for today’s apprentices to appreciate the wider context they work in, as well as focussing on equine skill sets and excellence. We particularly admired the diversity of Amelia’s project, and the natural commercial instinct which flourished in the pilot days she ran’.

Congratulations to Amelia and Eve for all their hard work, commitment to learning and business success and the great contributions they have made to support their employers. Amelia received a £150.00 cash prize and Eve a £50.00 cash prize. The apprentices and their employers also received exclusive Members Tickets for the Horse Trials.
